Tom wasn't exposed to the outdoors until he was in the fifth grade when his family moved from suburban Indianapolis to "the country"... There he immediately began exploring the creeks and woods and was soon discovering the God-given passion for the outdoors wasn't easily satisfied, as he was constantly longing to be out there. Small game hunting, trapping, fishing, and hunting with hounds for the next 15 years, eventually gave way to Tom's current passions of bow hunting monster whitetails, Rocky Mountain elk, and wild turkeys. Being a constant observer of how wild animals utilize their habitat, and being a fanatic about preparation and detail has allowed Tom to experience many successful, unforgettable days afield. Some of Tom's accomplishments include several Pope and Young and Hoosier Record Buck qualifiers, second and third placings in the Indiana State wild turkey calling championships, and one he is most proud of: arrowing a Pope and Young class bull elk on public ground in Colorado on a do-it-yourself hunt.
Tom attended Purdue University majoring in Landscape Architecture, and started his own landscape design and contracting business 16 years ago. He is married and has two daughters who also greatly enjoy the outdoors almost as much as dad does. Tom also founded Modern Habitat Solutions, the developer and manufacturer of "The Firminator" food plot implements 4 years ago. For the last 10 years, habitat development, and management of our God-given resources has given Tom as much enjoyment as some of the most memorable hunting experiences. "The responsibility of being a steward of the wonderful resources that we have been blessed with is an awesome privilege. It is an incredibly satisfying experience to see the wildlife and habitat benefit from work that you actually do with your own two hands. I want to maintain this level of involvement for the rest of my life!" Tom feels very strongly that God opened doors for him in the highly competitive hunting industry and allowed the Firminator to now be recognized as one of the best food plot implements on the market today.
